You also understood the power of that catharsis, the power of not being conformed. This is a goodbye with the same intensity as that dance, an opportunity to validate the contradiction and for us to meet one last time where we most liked to be, where no one told us what we had to be.

Diandra Arriaga
Mexican filmmaker, part of Colectivo Colmena. where she has forged a methodology that emphasizes horizontal and collaborative work. Their first feature film, MOSTRO, was self-financed by the collective, directed by José Pablo Escamilla, and had its world premiere during Locarno 74th. They are currently shooting the microbudget Lumbrensueño, funded by Biennale College Cinema 2023. "An Exemplary Punk" is Arriaga’s first individual work as a director.
